I wouldn't go for the Zeagle Tec BC system personally. If you are
considering cavern and/or cave diving you should really considerr a
backplate/harness/wing arrangement. I fell into this trap myself after
buying a Dive-Rite Transpac II system. I now wish I had gone straight for a
backplate and harness. I've thrown away the soft back pack of the Transpac
together with the cummerbund and the bungees on the Recwing to leave a much
more simple arrangement. However, it is still not satisfactory and I am
currently putting together a one piece harness and backplate assembly to
carry my 2x10L Faber steel tanks. Thisn system can be easily adapted for
singles or doubles.

Have a look at some of the DIR sites (Halcyon, Extreme-exposure, GUE, WKPP
etc) and see how the DIR people are configuring their gear. I have learnt a
great deal of useful stuff from these sites which I have been putting into
practice here in the UK.

Like you, I am a soon-to-be-trained cavern diver and my current set-up
simply would not be acceptable as it is. Don't make the same mistake as I
did.

> Does anyone in the Group have a constructive opinion on the merits of the
Zeagle Tec BC system vs. Dive-rite/ OMS/ Halcyon for a newcomer into this
realm? Ex-Saturation diver, wreckdiver but soon-to-be-trained cavern diver
looking for advice on a system to be used with singles or doubles, caverns,
Eastcoast wrecks and Gulf rigs. No trimix diving anticipated, but an option
down the road. Any comments before spending money on an unsatisfactory setup
would be appreciated.
