I know dive computers are not dir... but i find this an interesting piece of info none the less the NEW uwatec aladin air 02 computer (air integrated & for use with nitrox OR ocr's) does NOT have a dive planning mode. the old air x nitrox does, the new non-nitrox model does... but I was looking (closely) at this new dc and the manual does not mention it and the buttons don't get you into planning mode. i use a aladin airx nitrox for recreations -30msw and up- diving (curse if you wish) and teaching bsac courses (curse again if it pleases you) and the planning mode is useful... and of course if you ARE using a computer you MUST use it to plan the dive otherwise why use it in the first place...
