I don't know much about the algorithm but from playing around with DRX it
looks like he has used a form of combined dive system.  Like the gas load
(or a percentage of it) from the first dive is simply added to the gas load
from the second dive, with no credit for surface interval, or off gassing
from the deeper dive during the shallow dive.
