Hi All, some more scooter questions: what are the advantages of controlling speed by propellor pitch (as in =20 Gavins and clones) as opposed to voltage/gearing combinations (as in =20 Aquazepps)=2E A runaway Zepp can be stopped by putting the voltage switch into =20 "neutral" (midway between 12V and 24V settings) if a trigger or relay =20 jams open=2E What options are available on runaway Gavins (and it does =20 happen sometimes)? How do you stop from deep-discharging the batteries? Easy enough with a =20 light battery -- it starts to go yellow=2E Do scooters give up any early =20 warning signs or do you base it purely on burn time? I guess if it is a =20 choice between a long swim and save the batteries or new batteries and =20 save yourself then you'd do the latter, so maybe this is a moot point? Anybody using the Silent Submersion Gavin clones? Finally, a question aimed at Brits: anyone find a way to avoid the hefty =20 import tax when shipping a (US) scooter into the UK? As Zepps are made in =20= =20 Germany the duties do not apply but on stuff from the US it is quite =20 steep=2E I know people fly out to the US and carry them back personally but= =20 I'd rather get it shipped=2E Thanks, Stuart =20 Visit our web site at www=2Escott-wilson=2Ecom Privilege and Confidentiality Notice=2E This e-mail and any attachments to it are intended only for the party=20 to whom they are addressed=2E They may contain privileged and/or=20 confidential information=2E If you have received this transmission in=20 error, please notify the sender immediately and delete any digital=20 copies and destroy any paper copies=2E Thank you=2E Scott Wilson Scotland Ltd Registered in Scotland No=2E 48951,=20 Registered Office: 6 Park Circus, Glasgow, G3 6AX=2E UK=2E ________________________________________________________________________ This message has been checked for all known viruses, by Star Internet, delivered through the MessageLabs Virus Control Centre.
