Thanks to those who gave me info about the diving around Crystal River area.
Had a great time--the springs were much nicer that the frost in central
Florida.

Q. I've read that you get used to the air moving around in wings/side to side
as well as the face down position. Save for the positioning of bands as high
up on the tanks as possible and putting the battery butt box in the obvious
place, what does one do to alleviate the situation?
Do you get used to plowing with your nose or hittin the roof with yer heels or
is there a trick? Could putting a restriction at the top of the wings help
slow down the shifting of air? I assume that no one pumps a lot of air in
in a big hurry. Liquid tanker trucks have baffles to prevent the liquid from
throwing the truck over on its side when they go around corners. It's the same
sort of thinking--slow the flow down to a controllable rate.

I'm one of those guys who tinkers endlessly with dive gear (engineer and a
boring winter).

For those who don't understand the Michellen Man effect--I often find myself
in shallow water with a pony of Nitrox near-empty. Its neccesitates carrying
more weight than one would otherwise carry. If you use your dry suit as
inflation, as I *did*, you inflate beyond the amount required to be comfortable
till you become nuetral. Put your head down to inspect some wreck artifacts and
you will find your legs very fat and bouyant. Combine that with the lack of
argon fills in the Canadian and Michigan outback, and you have a very good
case for using BCDs for inflation. I also enjoy the quick-dump feature that
needs either hand--very usefull if I've got a hold of something with my right
hand and/or face down in current with balloon feet. Yes I have ankle weights,
yes I have ankle straps on the suit, yes I got used to it, no I didn't like it,
so I changed and have to deal with dumping more than one system, but thats not
hard with adjustable valves and a very slow ascent up the line!

Sorry to bore those who are stiff.
