>I picked up on it and corrected it . "Typos" are usually what guys like you >come after me for and that is the "short version". If this is all you can do >after six years of my stuff on hear, and complain about me not being nice to >idiots, then I guess I am ok. > >You come up with some answers , or in fact, let ANYONE come up with answers >, and I'll sit back and WRITE THEM DOWN. The problem is you do not have any, >but you are obviously intent on being an asshole. > >Go ask "doc" Black or his bible , Gilliam's book, anything and see how those >answers compare. I have made a serious study of this stuff and bet my life >doing it. What the fuck have you done, asshole? Thanks for the relatively polite response George. You did not "pick up on it". Someone else did (Wendell Grogan). You did not correct it. You tried to pawn it off as a typo. It was obviously not a typo and it is beneath your respected position in the dive world to try to bully your way out of this. I only wrote because I haven't done doodly squat in the world of diving and have found the DIR approach to be pretty much 100% (not that I am in any official position to judge) This places me very much in your hands as I make choices about how to acquire the skills necessary to do dives beyond 130 fsw. It shook me up real bad to see you obviously fabricating material to support a point you were making. Then I further find out from you that your knowledge of the subject comes from conversation with a buddy while pumping iron (I quote your words here "I known about it because one of my workout buddy's kid's has it"). The point is, "cycle cell enemia" is possibly a typo, but to say the disease is called "cycle cell anemia" becuase the "cells cycle" is making up stuff on the fly to support your point. No big deal you might say, but what if you were talking about a gas mix and fell into the same trap. I sure hope you would retract it without any sideways attempts to obscure the error. Since I don't know squat and depend on you and the DIR approach to guide me, it is imperative that you know all the squats. It's obvious that you know more about long exposures at depth than just about anybody in the world. Why jeopardize the trust that generates by defending a small error in judgment? And don't try to tell me it was a typo, you had your mouth in gear and your brain on idle, we all do it sometimes. Like I said, I don't expect you to be perfect, but I sure hope you do your best, because I will be betting my life on it too.
