Good luck hitting them in the pocket book. You can't get a
reservation on Odyssey or the Aggressor boat within six months
of the trip date. And it's difficult getting dates you might
want a year in advance. They have no problem running full trips.
The only way you may change their mind is to offer them more
money to do your own thing.
And for the record, Gilliam, Skaggs, and TDI used to run their
"tech weeks" on the Aggressor boat. Does anyone know why they
changed boats? Odyssey has only been there about a year. Was there
an accident that we didn't hear about? Did you guys ask Thorfinn if
they would "allow" trimix? They even know what deep stops are.
I doubt Odyssey and Aggressor do.. Also, don't Odyssey and Aggressor
use membrane systems (meaning they don't have O2)? This might mean
you might not get the optimal mix anyway unless you brought O2 also.
While the logistics are difficult, these boats do need to get
with the program. It's certainly not impossible. They have trimix
divers on the island of Kwajalein on the base.
