Steve Millard <ec96@li*.ac*.uk*> sent me a *.JPG picture of the Phibian rebreather. I have at last got by FTP (in the UK early morning before the net gets impossibly slow) from oak.oakland.edu:/SimTel/msdos/graphics/disp187*.zip (* = a,b,c; unzip the --c.zip file last as it contains a cure to a bug) a package called DISPLAY (written in Gnu C) which can read and translate between a great lot of different graphics modes from 24meg-color modes down to Windows icons. Unzip it into a separate directory C:\DISPLAY\. Now I can read the .GIF etc pictures that get emailed about. The Phibian as depicted there looks incredibly well streamlined for forward swimming: there is no square back end to cause much hydrodynamic drag in swimming forwards like the Carmellan SMS2000 had. It also looks lot more streamlined when the diver rolls over. On the picture it was lightish green all over with white wide twin-hose breathing tubes with a mouthpiece. It had stab-like floats built into its harness: I could not see these well, as the picture was from the back.
