First off, let me clear up a few things. The list is NOT a part of GUE so 
please do not bother them. They do have their list for those that have 
bought the decoplanner software.

In a nutshell:
1998:The list was originally started from numerous e-mail correspondences 
with Eric Maiken about the VPM model and his programming. I suggested 
setting up a list since I knew I was not the only one asking him questions 
about it. He did not have the time to put forth so I volunteered to setup 
and administer the list. I purposely withheld info about the list as I 
don't want it to be another techdiver forum. I will not play referee with 
all the bs that gets slung around. Subscribing meant you either found me 
personally (not the decompression.org address) or someone who was already 
on the list who redirected you to me. I don't deal with people who send me 
an e-mail which does not at the very least have their name in it somewhere.

Off topic here is my take on matters of late:
The multi-model approach is the only way to get the proper deco profile as 
George has stated. Getting all worked up about how he states his info is 
inconsequential to the content. If you go back through the archives you 
will find the answers to probably 90% of the way he calculates his 
profiles. You just need to put the pieces together and do a little 
investigating to find the rest out for yourselves.

cyber divers: Can it. Try doing some diving once in a while. For those that 
want to argue vehemently with George I pose this challenge to you. If you 
think you have the answers and you feel your way is better try accelerating 
your deco profiles off the scale off conventional Buhlmann programs and 
then come back with your profiles for comparison.
