Subject: O Rings and using O2 mix

Barry,

The main concern appears to be O ring ageing. O2 seems to make Nitrile etc.
crack faster.

Your are right about using "normal" ones. Dowty, Dupont and others have a
compatability list for rings which includes those found in our SCUBA regs. It
appears to be the manufacturers that are paranoid about them and exploding O2. I
am trying to get together an article based on the data I have from ring the
manufacturers, NASA and ASTM to put this myth to bed. Can anyone out there get
me chemical content data on any O ring they use with cylinder necks or
regulators. I need; use, chemical content and manufacturters product listed.
