Kent, Although the Poseidon regs take a regular beating on this forum I belive that you will still see a few of the first stages used on a regular basis by some of the best DIR divers in the world. It is a rock solid reg which is VERY compact and sets up very nicely for a Horgarthian rig. The main bitch whit the reg is the second stage hose not the first. The divers I was diving with in Michigan use Odin firsts almost exclusively as this is about the only reg we have not problems with in cold water. I have seen the firsts in use at the WKPP. I use ONLY Odin firsts for all dives and have never had any problems. I can not say that about any other reg I have taken deep in cold water. The external o-rings on the reg are a "standard" o-ring which I buy off the shelf from a packings and seals wholesaler. I think you are right that less than 90% or US tech use Odins. But I bet you will find a much higher percentage of Odin firsts among US tech divers that you Volvos on the NASCAR circuit.
