JT, I agree.. This is another example of divers worrying about the wrong things at the wrong time.. This matter is solved at the surface before you get into the water. It's simple, you emergency plan is to drop the light ( if I'm thinking this through ahead of time ) I've already accepted this risk and at the moment of need that's the last thing I'm worried about. Drop the damn light, get to the surface and live to talk about it.. Period, end of sentance. If your rig has been properly balanced, if you are thinking things through ahead of time all the rest of this is bullshit.. It's diver's that don't think things through ahead of time that are worried about this. Have a emergency plan, if you need it you use it, you certainly don't want to be at 300' in an emergency and trying to come up with a plan..
