Hi Trey, I have a question about your comment... >For the WKPP, I started out in our Standards and Procedures with a rule that "no gas can be carried beyond its depth without permission from the Project Engineer ( Bill Gavin, now Bill Mee) and the Project Director ( me). >While that rule still stands, the only difference is that I will NEVER give permission since only a deco weenie or a moron who does not understand deco , or a misfit who should not be diving, would want to do such a thing ( to try to "save" deco). I have been in caves where there is a high shaft back in the cave that requires deco to go up in. So far I have done deco on backgas and/or skipped the dome and/or stopped going up the shaft once I could see the top even though I hadn't been all the way to the ceiling yet. I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that there are caves out there with extensive shallow systems beyond a long deep entry way. So the question is; Are you saying that (in such a system) you would advocate backgas deco? Or are you saying that you have not seen such a system. If the latter; How do you handle domes that get very shallow in caves that are very deep? Thanks in advance, Ron Bear -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
