It is obvious that you have not read the origanal post or followed the
thread. Go back to sleep. You are restating several thing from original

This is the most ridiculous post I have ever read. Scubapro and Faber need
to step up and explain this??!?!?! You have got to be kidding me. Let me
take a crack at explaining this for all you Mensa's out there.

The big rubber thing at the opposite end of where the air shoots out of it
is called a boot. Underneath that is something called metal. When you put
it in the water (something that happens when you go diving) water gets
trapped there and forms something called "rust". Those are the bubbles you
are seeing.

This is not an engineering problem. It is a process of nature. I don't
think it takes a doctorate in physics to figure out why things rust when
taken in water. Also, when you actually use your gear, it gets worn out.

Get rid of the tank boots. They are useless anyway and make it harder to put
your tanks into tank racks. Tanks boots are bad from a number of safety
standpoints as well. Since they allow you to store your tanks upright it
concentrates any moisture over a smaller area and could create line rusting
in your cylinder. If you lay the tank on its side it will spread any
moisture over a greater surface area and help prevent line rusting.

Why are you paying someone to tell you what you can and can't do. Find a new
boat. You are paying for it. Tell the captain the way you want it or take
your business elsewhere. Another thing I can't figure out, why do they
"require" tank boots?
