Eric Actually, everyone needs to hear I told you so. Your statement will lead= others to try insane contraptions at will. I think you should start list= ening more and talking less. It sounds like you have a lot to learn from Trey'= s comments. He has never advocated anyone donning a killer rig and jumping= off a boat. I believe the boat owners need to think about why they would all= ow anyone to use such a contraption. I keep hearing the comments about how = save and good they are, however, they allowed Tony to don 225lbs of gear and j= ump off of their boat. Maybe a few less press clippings and a few more safet= y issues should have been discussed. It is a sad day in diving when this type of accident is allowed to happen= =2E Bob Eric Nelson <enelson@op*.ne*> wrote: Trey wrote: > Gee, what a surprise! Steve Belineda told me. For someone who advocates a system that makes gre= at sense its unfortunate that your mindset is that judgmental. The bottom l= ine is that Cobb is the only one that got it right. This is a tragedy; show some compassion. Right now no one knows what happened. Although his rig= looked like an accident waiting to happen, no one at this point needs to hear I told you so. The point is obvious. Realistically when we dive w= e are all just playing the odds. Some setups increase your chance of survi= val and some do not. Until the perfect system of diving comes along today's accepted practice is tomorrow's stroke of the day. Just hope tomorrow th= at your dive doesn't go wrong because people will microanalyse how you fail= ed no matter how sound your system is.
