There was a discussion several months ago about
travelling with sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries.  I
Ran across this doing some research today on SLA
batteries at Power-Sonic's website:

It is a letter stating that their batteries are
considered "non-dangerous" for surface shipment, air
shippment within the continental US and for
international air shipment, referencing the appriated
regulations.
