John Crea was quick to shoot back the attached information. Obviously, my theory may have some serious side effects. John knows a heck alot more about these things than I do...I guess that's why it "pays to ask". As to exposure to nitrous oxide to "acclimate" to narcosis, please be aware that chronic abuse of nitrous oxide has been linked to neurologic symptoms and enzyme depletion in the liver. The neurologic symptoms appear to be NOT reversible, and and lead to long term sensory deficits in the extremities. Considering the reported problems with frequent exposure to nitrous oxide, it would appear to be adviseable to limit ones exposure to narcosis producing levels of nitrogen (or any other inert gas) as much as possible.
