Jim,
Your problem is you just don't get it.  There's no
reason to recognize any accomplishments or
developments by any of the pioneers of cave diving, or
any methodologies developed before the current state
of the art.  Cave diving as we know it began circa
1991.  Nothing of value came before.  As the chief
airfoil engineer from Boeing's 717 project recently
stated in an interview with Aviation Week, "Orville
and Wilbur?  Talk about a couple of strokes!  Show me
the first 'No Smoking' lamp on the Wright Flyer and I
will SYD!"
