Hi Art,

Thanks again for the comments. I do appreciate them.

<< Two air-integated computers?
For the amount of money you'd have to spend, you could buy a laptop PC and
software to cut tables on it. You'd also have a platform for other useful
things, like a dive log and looking up weather bouy information. A much
better use of the money, IMO. >>

Thanks for the thought. But I already have two laptop PC's and two powerbook
Macs so I really don't need another.

Although I appreciate your opinion, I'm afraid that I cannot really go along
with you on this one. I do not imagine the computer deco would be
significantly different in the two cases. If you would like to propose an
example, perhaps we might use a deco program on a PC (or a Mac) to establish
the difference in deco predictions between the two cases.

I obviously have not made myself clear in that one basic misunderstanding is
that with the wrist computers, it might be unnecessary to cut specific backup
tables for each dive. Decoplan tables in the format of the waterproof IANTD
trimix tables, that cover deco schedules for a range of bottom times and
bottom depths, could serve as a backup for any dive within a certain range of
parameters. It might well not be necessary to cut separate backup tables for
each dive.

Once again I thank you for your comments and for the chance to discuss these
topics out in the open, so to speak.

Take care and safe diving, Scott

Two air-integated computers?

So, you're telling me you have to tools to cut custom tables and only use
them as a backup? Where is the logic in that?
