Hi Folks There has been some discussion on the limitations of the dive computers not having enough grunt to perform complex caclulations for advanced dive alogrythims (close enough?). Has there been any research into either some form of neural-nets type computation or even better some good old fashioned technology the analog computer. I came in at the end of the analog-computer era in my field but I remember them being able to do some very complex caclulations and simulations in real time. We used to sell a Nuclear power station simulator(no one in aus bought one but we had a couple of coal fired station simulators out there) that was totally analog. You can have multipliers dividers, integrators etc. Maby the time and the depth could be fed in as anaolge values and the results either A/D or analog display.
