The person I dive with suffers from headaches that come on during the first dive of the day. We dive in New England year round in water temperatures ranging from 38-60 degrees. He is in excellent physical shape and has no medical conditions that would lead to these headaches. He dives a dry suit with a wet hood. The dives we make range from 45-70 fsw and are not strenuous. The headaches begin generally 25-35 minutes into the dive while at a consistent depth. We have come up with a few ideas of what could be causing this. 1- Lack of thermal protection? 2- Neck seal too tight? 3- Hood too tight? 4- C02 build up? He doesn't suffer from these headaches while diving in warm water. Does anyone on the list have any ideas on why these headaches would occur and how to avoid them? Thanks!
