Paul, I agree with Dave. You know I dive the same conditions you do since we're on the boat together a lot and you know I dive with an O2 bottle. I think you'll find that as long as you're not hanging directly on the anchor line, maintaining a given depth, even in rough conditions is not that tough. Next time the swells are up (almost every weekend...:-) try doing a 20FSW stop, monitoring your gauge. And rig up a jon-line. Just watch out if you're hooked in to the anchor line, those weenies that go up the anchor line can never maintain bouyancy and so pull the line up as they do their stop. If you're on the Sea, Dave now hangs a weighted line which is generally less populated than the anchor line. Oh and deep1dave - Paul was using the location "Monterey" rather generically. Most of his diving is Carmel and south, or at least that's what he prefers. It all depends on what we can con Cap'n Phil into. :-) Oh, and Paul, get rid of those damn bungee wings and put the canister on your belt where it belongs.
