More detail on an old thread.... The robotic tuna is in the March 95 Scientific American, even on the cover. It is a pretty interesting article on fluid flow and how fins should work. The tuna, it turns out, is not made of any new electroMuscle, memory plastic or metal; it's just a flexble frame covered in sheets of foam, with pulleys and cables inside. It is not free-swimming, but rather mounted in a tunnel. #----------------------------------------------------# Roger Carlson H 310-376-4437 Somewhere off Hermosa Beach, CA W 310-813-0858 Roger_Carlson@at*.sp*.tr*.co* F 310-812-1363 New and improved: http://darkside.sp.trw.com:21 #----------------------------------------------------#
