I know the shop that the Monterey demo is going to be at. It's a friendly shop, with a good attitude, but new to tech. The "tech" diving in the Monterey Bay is generally a mishmash of different gear configurations, with very little, to no leadership. We don't have caves, or deep wrecks, to dive; just really cool marine life coming out of the trench. So, as far as tech. configuration is concerned, Monterey's almost virgin territory. Concerning tech, there is only one shop within 100 miles that knows what it's talking about. It's owned by a longtime mix diving, wrecker, who is busy, professional, and not into the Internet. He wouldn't post anything, let alone crap like that. My buddies and I are some of the most active, deep divers in the Bay. Most of us have Halcyon rigs, and have evolved towards DIR for our ocean dives. The standardization and streamlining of our gear, has been a great improvement over the chaos of the past. We welcome MHK's DIR demo, and will be there, to meet Mike and show support. Dave --part1_26.63f7ead.2661e20f_boundary-- -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
