It points slightly inward and outward. Slightly outward so that the button does not get pushed against the chest when clipping a stage, and inward because I hold the inlfator in my last three fingers: the thumb is free to press the button and to pinch the nose with the forfinger to clear and the forfinger is free to press the drysuit button at the same time as the thumb is pressing the inflator button. This is the most optimal way. I have no clue why they all come reversed. I just loosen the clamp and spin it to the correct position. I also chamge my corrugated hose out to one that is three inches longer on all my bc's. The short hose just stresses itself. When is doubt on anything as to the why's of DIR - my domain, ask me and cc the list. I would like to clear all of these items up since there are so many "versions" of what I have tried to describe floating around out there that are bullshit and unsupportable. I really do not care what anyone else thinks or why or what they think works or what they think has had no problems - I have never had anything go wrong with even the worst dogshit rig or gear during a dive, but my personal "preference" is to chose the most optimal gear and arrangement and the things that make the most sense, regardless of any other beliefs. This is what makes me me, and this is why people listen to me - I don't fudge, compromise, answer to anyone, favor anyone , or care about anyone's position. I am totally independent and so is the WKPP.
