Reply Form RE>DCI rate with Deco-tables 2/15/95 A good reference for relative DCI risk would be: Weathersby, P.K., Survanshi, S.S., Hays, J.R., AND MacCallum, M.E. STATISTICALLY BASED DECOMPRESSION TABLES III. COMPARATIVE RISK USING U.S. NAVY, BRITISH, AND CANADIAN STANDARD AIR SCHEDULES. Naval Medical Research Institute Technical Report No. 86-50. Bethesda, MA, 1986. -------------------------------------- hi all, quite a while ago, someone posted a curve comparing the no decompression limits of the new Navy tables (I can't tell which year) and PADI tables. The Navy tables were supposed to yield 1 and 5 % DCI incidence respectively. I compared the data of this graph with some other tables which are: - the old Buehlmann-Hahn used in Germany - the new Hahn tables of the year 92 used nowadays in Germany - the BSAC tables (the newrer ones) - the Comex Pro tables used by french commercial divers introduced in 1992 I haven't included the Marine Nationale 90 used by french divers, nor the canadian table (I forgot the name). I also haven't done a comparison of any repetitive dive nor of any decompression dive. Well, when I see the graph I conclude that the NAVY 1% DCI tables offer the shortest no decompression limits. Should one conclude that the other tables (so all tables I listed above) yield a higher DCI rate than 1 %? So do you have to accept to get bend on 1 % of the dives? Any thoughts? juergen -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@opal.com'.
