Hi Brian: I live in Tustin, right next to Anaheim. If you are looking for "real" wrecks, as opposed to artificial reef projects, visit the site of the California Wreck Divers , http://cawreckdivers.org or give them a call. If you like artificial reef projects, there is "Wreck Alley" in Mission Bay, just north of Downtown San Diego, which is about 100 miles south of Anaheim. I presently dive with a 7mm wetsuit, with a lycra skin underneath, but no vest. Definitely wear a hood. Water Temps are in high 50's low 60's and a little unpredictable right now. Don't know about DIR friendly or unfriendly boats, since my stuff hasn't arrived yet from Halcyon (although some of it is on its way, I'm happy to say). If you need equipment, there is a Halcyon dealer in Anaheim, although I can't remember their name right now. You can also get above average gear at Open Water Habitat in Santa Ana, but you have to navigate around a lot of OMS stuff. They do have a good repair facility, mixed gasses, parts for most rigs, etc. I'm heading down to San Diego for the long weekend, hope to get in three or four days of "fun diving". Drop me a line when you are in town. I need some help with the following..... Can anyone tell me who rents tanks with din h-valves, what the best wrecks are (35-150 fsw), which charters are worth going on (hogarth & long-hose friendly), and typical water temps this time of year? (I doubt my 3mm is enough) TIA, Brian Patrick Davie, FL __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Kick off your party with Yahoo!
