Subject: swivels for DIR
Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 08:16:17 GMT
hi there,
have read the gue website and WKRP. still have a few qus , hope the guys out
there can guide me.

a) do we need a swivel for the 1st stage ? i personally dun think so , but i
might be wrong

b) is it ok , advisble or a BIG NO to instal swivels to the 2nd stages ? if
yes , do we install to both 2nd stages ,( the one to the 2.1m hosae and the
one round the neck ) or just to one of them ?

c) have this weight problem...i dive wet most of the time. i'm from asia ,
so even if we do tek dives ( simple ones !! ) , would at most require a
semi-dry suit.
now i only need 6pounds of lead to sink when diving with al 80s. however if
i were to get a ss backplate , the weight itself would be sufficient for me
to sink. But this means that i cant dump these in cases of emergency as
well. i feel that ss plates are much better for saltwater and harsh
environemnt conditions, thus i have this problems on wieghts now .

i have calcualted that ,IF INCLUDING A 2POUND KEEL WEIGHT ,as i advance
into doubles and side tanks (2) , my percentage of dumpable wwights would
increase from about 33% to 58% ,is this ok ?
of cos, if i dun put the keel weight , the percentage would increase..

advise please
