First off, i take you have the oms double bungee wing already and you are
looking for DIR permission. I doubt you will get it. I have heard there is at
least one recall of the inflators and that oms no longer ships with bungee
attached. They have also introduces a non bungee wing. Personally I would
suggest buying a new wing.

You obviously know all the answers to your questions already, but you want
permission form mom and dad before you go kill yourself, well it aint gonna
happen here pal. dive as you please and good luck to you, i dont intend to go to
australia anytime soon, and besides the bungees will serve to keep other dir
divers away from you, and that will be good for them.

as for your individual questions:

1. lift, what you need to float your rig and weights, without you in it. <
this
assumes you are.like most human beings, positive in regard to floation. If you
aint, then you need track shoes and lots of miles. left
rigtleftrightleftrightleft........

2.lift bag- what are you lifting? it this for an object undwater,an up line or
some thype of last ditch rescue idea? I like a 50lb bag for upline, thats
usually enuff to cut thru a moderate current. A really good idea might be to ask
the locals where you intend to dive what the local currents are like w/regard to
uplines.

3.these are longer dives, deeper dives right? have you already done comparable
in water times to your expected total run times? you may have longer and colder
dives in mind than you realize.Personally I think a suit like the tls 350 would
be useful in any climate for extreme or deep type diving. it address redundant
buoyancy and provides thermal protection, and doubles as a emergency surface
floatation device< ie drift away from the boat and you wont sink if you blow
up
the suit> plus you get pockets to carry stuff< althought you can get wetsuit
pockets> In tropical type water you may not need heavy underwear for deco, but
what about the bottom? and on dives that push the envelope, why risk bringing
thermal issues into your deco plans< ie cold tissues off gas slower>

the hose can still go at the first stage o ring, and your twice as screwed. plus
there is hose routing plus the idea that if one bladder tears inside the liner
it may not vent fully, which at some point will trigger the opv on the second
bladder, which dumps gas, wastes gas, and takes time to figure out, and then you
still have the original problem, plus who knows how many others. Then there is
the faulty inflator issue, who knows if when your good primary goes, that your
second isnt the faulty one. Now two, was one, is none and its probably game
over, because you didnt think beyond this point and decide its better to give up
and die at the bottom, then ditch all your crap and get bent provided you can
even fight thru all your retractors, bungee and other crap.does this still seem
like a good idea????

4. single tank is less than double tank. thus less drag, provided you also
change wings. if you are going to swim a single with a double bondage wing, you
would be best advised to do it on surface supplied, because you will empty your
single very very fast.

5. real doubles have ss double bands, not cam bands. ss has mass and thus
weight, so no extra needed for trim. indepentant velcro doubles, or some other
stupidity will not , but i suspect you didnt really mean cam band. on a single
you may want a little weight along the back center, esp w/ and al tank and an al
plate. I use a ss plate on single al tank, no problem.

6. no bungee no no no no. if you wing is inflated, and springs a leak, bungees
make it dump faster, ie makes a problem worse. they dont streamline the tank,
they just rearrage a bad shape. you need a smaller wing. no bungee, no. cant
say it enuff, no bungee, just forget the freaking things exsist. and btw , did
you try the oral inflation at depth? even if you did, lose the bungee wing, for
all the other reasons.

7. stop with the bungee already your killing me here guy. you need a smaller
wing for a single tank.

8. look you can do whatever you want to, but dont expect it to be dir. Im going
to eat some crackers and you can all kma.

later,

Al Marvelli
