Kevin To carry the older acrylic 3-clip lights, you rotate the battery 180 degrees and clip down the canister lid as per normal but with the O-ring removed. This solves the A) offgas, B) will mash the switch and fittings issues. However, it does not prevent damage of the canister due to poor handling. I usually left the oring out with the whole thing assembled. Point taken. So. My plan for next week is to seperate the cannister and the battery, pad the cannister well with soft goods and hope for the best. Anyone know where I can rent a gavin light in akumal? :-) >Kevin Connell wrote: > > > > Back to the travelling with lights issue: > > > > the gue master (jj) told me a long time ago that the black lights were nice > > "because you didn't have to carry them on" which insinuates that if its > > acrylic, you have to carry them on to protect them.
