As a follow up to my own post... My wife looked over what I last posted and had some further advice. - Make sure that the "Valsalva Maneuver" is included in your bubble study. They find that this is left out of many, many studies when they review cases that have had standard studies. This maneuver is when you tighten your abdominal muscles and bear down as if having a (bad) bowel movement, you hold, then you release. This increases the pressure and volume the heart sees. Often this will show a problem that would otherwise be missed. As you know, when diving we are not always in a "relaxed state". Funny part of all this is that back when I was doing commercial diving the entire cardiac section of the dive exam consisted of listening with a stethoscope and answering some basic questions! Now that I'm doing "light deco" I am aware of more medical concerns than I ever knew about. Luckily I married a person with a skill that helps me in this area.
