Kevin, Some drysuit inflators (such as the Apex) use a large bore bayonet fitting that is not compatible with a standard BCD hose. This fitting has the same thread as a standard BCD bayonet fitting so I just unscrewed mine and replaced it with a standard fitting (the large bore bayonet was put to good use in a P Valve) "Is there a situation which i will need to switch inflator hoses ?" I would say that it's a good idea to have a hose fitting that is compatible with both the BCD and drysuit inflator as you can use one hose for two functions should the need arise.
