OK, since I have received quite a few helpful hints already, I will explain what I am trying to do <g> The boots which come with my new drysuit is the %$%#@ industrial heavy-duty type that I could walk on nails with and very warm. Of course, the price you pay for is they are very heavy, very large and very rigid. The worst thing is they don't fit my XL Jetfins properly. My feet don't sit all the way in the boot parts. Removal on water surface is a nightmare. Sculling inside wrecks using your ankles is crap. My other drysuit with the DUI socks (and Rock Boots which I don't use) need 1 finger to pop the Jackie Smith's spring and two fingers to pull the fins off. Diving from a boat, there is no need to protect the socks. Diving from rocky shore requires putting a pair of thin wetsuit booties over them, no big deal. What is the big deal for "preparing" an extra pair of booties when compare to the rest of the gear on a typical mix dive ? I think a wise man (JG) already said that Rock Boots are ideal for u/w rock climbing <g> Of course, I could go cheap and buy a set of XL IDI fins hoping that they might solve my problem, but I would rather fix it once. Since Florida isn't the ideal place to repair drysuit, I probably just order a pair of the CF-200 soft boots Kevin mentioned and install them here. Thanks guys, -Phi PS: BTW, I don't think deco is fun either, only a necessary evil-thing unless you have George's genes <g> -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Connell [mailto:kevin@nw*.co*] Sent: Monday, April 17, 2000 5:19 AM To: DECO4FUN@ao*.co*; phi@sk*.be*; rebreather@nw*.co*; cavers@ca*.co*; techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Re: Drysuit repair in Fort Lauderdale ? I'm a little more into diving than decoing for fun but: The DUI "sock" he is talking about is the CF-200 material with a sole on it. Both the CF-200 and TLS come with those. They last for years and work a hell of a lot better than big fucking plastic boots on other suits. The DUI rock boots are equally stupid.
