Alexander - What exactly is your point here?  You seem a little emotional 
about this.

I will restate my point for the fourth or fifth time:

1) Use standardized gear configuration
2) Don't take it if you don't need it.

So far I have heard:

"Dual 46's *are* standard configuration" - Yeah right, that with jersey 
reels and bondage wings
"Dual 46's are a good substitute for a single tank" - Maybe because they 
look cool.  Otherwise, no.
