How about some advice here... O2 breaks.... Do you use your back gas or your previous gas? Example: Lets say you have back gas 17/55, deco 50/50 and O2. I have heard two lines of reasoning for this question. One group says to get away from the helium during deco that N uptake is much slower so you should use your 50/50. The other group states that you are taking a break from the O2 and should move to backgas not the higher O2 in the 50/50. Personally I was taught to move back one gas for your breaks, in this case the 50/50. Am I wrong here? Excuse any obvious ignorance as I was taught commercially and now am now converting to planning and diving without the surface support. When I was diving commercial this was a non issue, you switched to air. Thanks, Rick -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
