Maybe I'm not aware of some easy way of doing this.  When I get this 
problem, I have to remove the metal circlip that locates the plastic 
exhaust diaphragm cover, in order to expose the diaphragm.  If I do 
this on site, I'm always scared of losing the clip.  I certainly 
couldn't do it underwater. What am I missing?
