Hi Bob,
I had this exact same problem a year or so ago, and I asked the list just
as you are doing. I got a number of replies, and each person seemed to have
a different approach to the problem! The most useful solution I found was
from someone who sent me a macro file that did it all for me. I am quite
happy to email this to you as an attachment and explain how to use it.
Before I do that I am wondering if you have tried the new version of ZPlan
called ZPlanner? This uses a "Graphical User Interface" in which you simply
enter your dive info (depth, time etc) into the boxes and click on
"calculate". It has a box in which you can enter your surface interval
time! Saves a lot of mucking around. It is in effect the same program as
ZPlan, but someone has added on the "Windows" approach. The deco schedule
appears in a box in text format, which you can still "cut and paste" into a
word processor and print or save for later use, or maybe email it to your
buddy by way of planning your next dive schedule (this is one of the
advantages of ZPlan over the other programs I have seen).
There is a link to this program on the Trimix web site (under "tools", Ross
Hemingway's GUI interface ZPlanner)

http://www.cisatlantic.com/trimix/trimix.html

While your at the trimix site check out the GAP program (Kees Hofwegen).
Its approach to deep stops seems to be gathering favour over the ZPlan
(Pyle stops) approach.

If you still want me to send you the file to run ZPlan with the -s option
email me.

Hope this helps, Dave.
