Although subsequent events proved me to be wrong. Just another case of my making a less than optimal decision and learning something from it. However at 60 feet and shallower, the Angelita cenote is only about 50 yards across and has no current. So with both students already having deployed lift bags and with a down line within 20 or 30 feet of their positions, I was not overly stressed. I simply pulled out my other bag and a Dive Rite reel and put it up. The situation was really simply an embarassment, not a safety concern. Looking back on it, I probably should have stuck with my Dive Rite reel. Ain't hindsight great? But that's why I put the story on this list. Perhaps it will help someone else from making a similiar mistake. I know in my career I sure have made enough of them. By the way, I have recently heard from George that I was using the wrong kind of spool and I hope to get some better ones from his source so the situation will not repeat itself. This list really works. Thanks for your query. Take care, Scott -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
