Shell. DUI TLS350 for example. Pockets on the side, NEVER ON THE FRONT.
Right side pocket utility type for tables and wetnotes, left bellows
(larger) type for spools, etc.

On your back d-ring. You can use some bungee to hold it firmly to the plate.
