Good work mikey,
Ignore the real "ILLNESS" and treat the symptom. Make them "think" they are
OK.
More MD's like you will help support Alternative Medicine practitioners,
with solutions that fix the "Real" problem.
Luckily most diving Doc's I've met are nothing like you.

Go ahead and pretend the old model works. It hasn't killed you yet, right?
Dan Volker

Ben, Why the confusion about no computer in DIR? Since most
computers today are based on Haldanian compartment models, and
DIR diving doesn't subscribe to this, then computers have no
place in DIR. Furthermore computers would provide contradictory
information that would have to be rejected in order to continue
DIR diving, including unnecessary deco stops and safe time-to-fly
recommendations far in excess of the three-hour standard practice
interval used by George & Co. following deep deco dives. Also,
the depth profile printouts that are so useful to personal-preference
divers might suggest to DIR divers that modification of their
ascent rates would help in future safe dive planning. In other
words, computers are too safe and conservative to be considered
useful in DIR diving. Convenient technological improvements like
computers should have no place in DIR, obviously. MJB
