Subject: Re: Condemned Regulator - Conclusion
Hi,

Thanks to everyone for all their comments and suggestions regarding my
"Condemned regulator". I took the reg to another technician who's taken
courses from Scubapro and worked almost exclusively on their regs for probably
20 years. He basically agreed with the first technician - it's bad but could
be salvaged but may not keep in tune for long. Here in Canada a new body for
the 1st stage (actually 1/2 of it) is $125 and a full service is $175 so it's
not really worth it if a new first can be bought for around $400. The 2nd is
almost as bad in condition and cost of replacing. If anyone is interested in
the comments I received regarding regulator care and storage let me know and
I'll send a summary.

                                                                    Thanks,

                                                                    Steve.
