Hey there Scott,

first, sorry that you got such a negative response from an iantd shop,
sounds like they're not quite as in touch as they may believe, although
i can certiantly understand their frustration with the industry:

i spent two hours with Bob Hollis from Oceanic yesterday at DEMA, he
made it VERY clear that they are NOT teasing, in fact i expect them
to have a number of units out for trials fairly soon. They plan a
small number of existing Oceanic dealers (50 or so world wide to start)
that will be training divers on the units. How many, can't say for
now... are they working, yeah and pretty damn well at that, will
divers other than military dudes have access to them... you bet !!!

the first people with access to the units will be trained at oceanic
by oceanic.. then i believe they plan to let some of those guys dip
some of you guys... i would expect this to take place this year..
they've spent over four mil and surely want to start recouping some of
those coins sometime... but don't make any bets, there are alot of
operational and training issues to cover.

aloha,

dennis pierce
