If you mean Hogarthian kit configuration then I dive a CCR and thats not Hog. Unfotunately some people think DIR and Hog is the same. To them I'm not DIR (hence the 'thrown out of the DIR club' comment) but DIR is also an attitude of mind which I still have. A quote from the GUE web site: "The DIR system is much more than an equipment configuration. It is a diving style that ensures every aspect of each dive represents safety, fun and efficiency." Note the *fun* bit. It's a pity some people have had their sense of humour surgically removed. ;-) It's interesting that cave diving is considered an added risk but with the right training, kit configuration and attitude (all of which has been lacking in the past = too many accidents) is considered DIR. Yet CCR diving, which is considered an added risk but with the right training, kit configuration and attitude (all of which has been lacking in the past = too many accidents) is not considered DIR. > safe diving, > D. > ps sorry for the previous post, it was done from work via a webmail a/c. No problem, I was just having a bit of a dig. Best Kevin -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
