I presume your not as thick as you seem and fired off that mail without
really thinking about it.

Do you really think you can get a dive conference with trade stands and
hundreds of people into a bar? No of course not Jeremy, it was held in a
hotel, the Hilton. Now where I come from most hotels have bars, so Saturday
night (the conference was Sat / Sun, nobody was diving Sun) we had a really
good party and enjoyed ourselves.

Now I've been subscribed to this list for many years, have the DIR videos
and visited the web sites many times but nowhere have I read that DIR means
being teetotal and a miserible bastard.

You have improved *your* diving by doing it right and rightly so.
