the thermal conductivity of CO2 is only a fraction better than Ar.

what does CO2 + H2O give you?  that would be carbonic acid.  i really don't
think you want that in your drysuit.  why does everyone (like this group
you are referring to) try to reinvent the wheel?  argon is the only proper
gas for drysuit inflation.
