> (unanticipated truncation of planned deco profile) > > Rich, is this also known as the "Cis-Lunar Triple-Redundant Wheres The > Fucking Dive Boat Save My Ass" menuvior? No, you're thinking of the "Life-Support-system-is-irrelevant-find-yourself-downcurrent-of-the-boat-300 -miles-from-civilization-surrounded-by-Galapagos-Sharks-at-Dusk-and-should'v e-had-the-chase-boat-ready-before-the-dive-but-didn't-cause-you-made-the-mis take-of-thinking-110-feet-wasn't-deep" manuver. (we refer to it as the "LSSIIFYDOTB3MFCSBGADASHTCBRBTDBDCYMTMOT1FWD" manuver, for short) Actually, that's quite a different response for several reasons: 1) Symptom onset does occur, so it is true IWR 2) The IWR portion lasts only 20 minutes, and doesn't help much. 3) Symptoms resolve after 15 minutes of surface-O2, & lots of hydration 4) The proceedure also involves 8 hours of surface O2 and three days of sailing against a storm. Although this procedure has proven 100% successful, it is rather specific to the circumstances, and is among the least pleasant approaches to managing bends symptoms in remote localities.
