I responded to you in private and explained this and your problems with
this list, and how to correct them. It seems that you have chosen to
ignore my advice, which slightly irritates me.
FOR THE LAST TIME, I did not do the math on these dives, the best in
the business did them. This is not something we sit around and pontificate
about, it is very real. I just posted a little more info on the damn
"clock" you are referring to, since you seem to doubt what I say why don't
you do the math your self and get back with us. For starters calculate the
decompression required for 300 minutes at 300 feet, that (if you not quick
with numbers) is five hours AT DEPTH. You will find that the BT alone
takes you to the "limit" of the "clock", oh and don't forget the deco,
which didn't amount to much, only 16.5 hours. Add the two together and you
get an average dive, that I am sure you could pull off with out difficulty,
of 21.5 hours. This is from memory if you insist on being a pestilent
thorn I can get the exacts, a few minutes might make all the difference to
you. George was much faster, he was in the water for only 14+ hours, so if
you have trouble with large numbers why don't you run his schedule.
These limits where set years ago, long before dives of this caliber
where ever dreamed off. God I am glad that education and exploration have
kept us were we started! Years ago it was believed that abnormal behavior
was caused by demons or a lack of morals, I am so glad that mankind did not
quest to learn any more about the workings of the mind and continues to
burn witches at the stake, not to mention the practice of bleeding and
hydrotherapy.
Imagine where would we be if we never pushed "limits". As you can
tell, you annoy most of the people on this list, and I hope you heed
George's advice and what you can do. Even if your original post was
mistaken you have not done a fair job of represented yourself as someone we
should listen to.
BTW since you are a doctor what is your speciality. I have always
found it humorous when "doctors" try and interject in areas outside of
their field: a gynecologist is not much help to someone with 37 stab
wounds in the chest.
Annoyed,
Scott Hunsucker
