I took a trimix class last month. We did our trimix dives in a
cave called Eagles Nest, near Weeki Wachee, Florida. It was a lot
of fun and I hope to do more. All I need is an oxygen analyzer
so I can make my own trimix and nitrox. Although I confess that I
usually enjoy narcosis it was pleasant to have the narcosis reduced
a bit. Unfortunately someone at the dive shop at Ginnie Springs
took it upon himself to top off our tanks, which had already been
filled with 17/33 trimix with air, raising the fraction of oxygen
and limiting our depth to 240 feet, since we had to strictly adhere
to O_2 exposure standards in the class. People not in the class were
going deeper on air, and it sure was tempting.

Okay, I'll introduce myself. I have full cave (NSS/CDS), nitrox,
and trimix (IAND) certifications. I do nearly all of my diving
in Florida caves. There isn't much open water diving worth doing
in north Florida, IMO. But the real reason I do so much cave diving
is that I'm a caver at heart, though I rarely go "dry" caving any
more. Cave diving is more interesting technically and less demanding
physically. I'm into scootering in caves, deep cave dives, and stage
diving. Nearly all of my dives require staged decompression.
A typical dive time for me is in the two range, counting
decompression. I'm sure glad to be diving in relatively warm
water. I recently got a video camera and underwater housing but
I haven't gotten around to trying it in a cave yet. I also do a
little non-technical open water diving with my wife, mostly on
vacations to Mexico.

I'm interested in decompression theory, including writing a program
for planning trimix dives and decompression.
