Richard, Things do not happen "out of nowhere". Inflators coming apart most certainly come down to bad equipment inspection, servicing and operation. Also the particular design is something not to overlook. All these questions about wingfailure...buy a decent (read Halcyon) wing and you will have piece of mind. Chances you will have a wing failure are hereby reduced to the absolute minimum. Proper care of your equipment will reduce the chances for wingfailure even further. BTW the biggest problem with bcd's is that the connection between the bladder and inflator hose breaks loose. Halcyon owners all know who well this problem is taken care of. Do yourself a favor...
