George,

I can't agree with you more. I met Gillam back when he
was running Ocean Quest (in '89 or '90) He spoke at a
dive club meeting in San Diego. He looked about twenty
years older than he was back then too. I had read a
lot of his articles and really wanted to meet him at
the time.

When I showed up and met him he had already drank
about eight martinis (Keep in mind we were having the
meeting in a restaraunt that didn't serve booze, he
brought his own in) and then proceeded to give his
lecture.

He made a total drunken ass of himself telling
everyone how he dove to 300 - 400 feet on air, that
deep air was no big deal, and called a bunch of people
pussies in the audience. Real nice for a family
oriented dive club. He was never invited back. I was
totally disgusted by him. So was everyone else.

Gillam is a fat drunken disgusting mess. He should be
banned from the sport.

Todd
